It was the year 2017 few of the community members were concerned about the plight of Transgender/Hijras in the society, the stigma and discrimination that they were undergoing, the isolation from the families, sexual abuse, and at the workplace. HIV/AIDS was another menace that was affecting them severely. As a group they wanted to do something about the situations of the Transgender/Hijras and uplift themselves and protect their Rights. It almost took 3 years to register Trans Equality Society and get a legal identity. Established and registered under Telangana Societies Registration Act 2001 reg no 295/2020 in the year 2020 on 28th of March.
